With our wonderful partnership with the Fort McMurray Heritage Society, Evermore Kookie was able to open our Bake shop location in August 2023.
Our Vision
The Evermore Kookie Bake Shop will be a place where our regulars will come and we will know their name and their order by heart (but they will always be offered one of our new or seasonal items).

The place where kids can get their promised treat and their parents can get something sweet for themselves as well.
​
It will be a place where people can come and escape from their busy work life, have a sweet dessert or grab a light lunch while catching up with an old friend.
​
It will be the shop that everyone visiting Fort McMurray will stop by to grab a treat and coffee while visiting the Heritage Park and learning about our great community and history.

We will strive to provide our customers with great customer service and the best quality products; whether a custom order or something on our shelves.
The Bakery
While on maternity leave, in 2019, I found my love for decorating sugar cookies and surprisingly I was pretty good at it.
I have always loved baking and the enjoyment of how food and desserts bring people together.
In 2020 (in the middle of the pandemic) I decided to take a leap of faith, resign from my Financial career and turn my passion for decorated cookies into a business.
I am sure I'm not just speaking for myself but also a few people in my life that thought this would be a big flop. But by the grace of God and the wonderful community of Fort McMurray, Evermore Kookie was/is a success…more than I could have ever anticipated.

Hello, I’m Johane, the proud owner of Evermore Kookie.
In 2006, my family immigrated from South Africa to Fort McMurray, and the culture shock was beyond what I expected.
Despite graduating from Westwood High School and initially thinking Fort McMurray wouldn’t see me again, I surprised myself by marrying a wonderful man who brought us back for his career.
Although we had a 5-year plan, this northern community quickly became more than we imagined.
Now, after 10 years, with 2 amazing boys, facing challenges like a fire and a flood, embracing resilience, enjoying beautiful summers, and enduring freezing winters, Fort McMurray has become our cherished home.
